A friend at work has twin daughters about to graduation from middle school. I love making these banners for parties and stuff. It’s great fun and I do believe it makes for some colorful memories. Not to mention they look great in the background of photos
These are each about 5-6 feet long made from a roll of unwaxed deli paper I got about 14 years ago. That roll has made a WHOLE lot of banners…and still going strong.
The notes I got about the girls were along these lines: This one likes roses, Twilight books, volleyball, purple and orange. That one loves Harry Potter books, red and blue, Easter lilies, running and the long jump.
Well, I tried to work the sports into the scene, but my skills at drawing people, even cartoon variety isn’t very good. Therefore, the sports bit the dust. I was left with the girls’ love of their favorite books, flowers, and colors. I did my best to recreate the fonts that are in the respective titles’ logos, added the colors, a bit of flora, and voila! Do you get a mortar board at Jr. High graduation? Oh well, if not they can use this for their high school graduation in 4 years.
Here are the results..oh and the mom said to make it colorful, please:)
