Before: Sooo cold, but time to get the fence up and dirt stirred and ready.
This Spring has been particularaly cold, but it was time to dig in the dirt and plant some stuff. I spent several hours in the VERY windy chill of an April day this week digging, planting, getting dirty, and I loved it. I’m not the gardening type really, but for some reason it is so satisfying and fun.

After (but early): Lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, squash, peppers, flowers, thyme, mint, basil, rocks, dirt, and fake flowers
This year I decided to try a few things and just hope for the best. I got several tomato plants, a variety of types, some hybrids, some heirloom. I got 4 kinds of peppers. There are 2 little butternut squash plants, we shall see how that goes:) There are herbs, thyme, lemon mint and chocolate mint (hmmm), and basil that’s been growing in the same spot for 3 years.
There are some fake sunflowers, for early satisfaction:) I got one lily plant, some snap dragons, and other ground cover plants. There is ivy in each corner and it might be the death of my garden, but I’m not sure yet, time will tell.
Oh, and I planted a bunch of garlic…ohhh can’t wait for that to grow and be ready for cookin’!!
Around my magnolia tree I planted some brussell sprouts, rosemary, and dill. Yes, I have a magnolia tree. I’m not sure how to take care of it fully yet, but I’m willing to put in the research.

This poor little tree needed some company. Time to get the mom and the nephew to do the hard work.

Getting those fingernails dirty, it's so worth it.

Ahh looks so tidy and nice. Time to put something in that fresh dirt.

My niece Ashley helped me plant the Brussel sprouts, rosemary, dill, and crazy curly grass.
