The Good News

The good news is that my lovely “Good-bye Girly Parts, Hello Hysterectomy” has been moved to an earlier date. It’s just 2 days, but it’s better for me and my piece of mind. The sooner the better. I have read too much, waited too long, and thought about more than I care to admit. I’m not afraid of an operation at all. I’m afraid of the healing process. The indignities and tiny humiliations you suffer along the way to recovery. It’s bad enough to get shaved in places I never shave, touched in places I don’t like being touched (namely in my guts), but to then have to follow it up with things like walking with pain, sitting with pain, pooping with pain, laughing with pain…. it’s not something to look forward to.
Let’s not forget after all the goods are removed, there will be the new loss of natural hormones and adjusting to things like hot flashes and mood swings, though my husband might say I already have those
Well, wish me luck and let’s all remember that I was going to have the surgery on Friday the 13th, and now that it’s been changed it could have upset the fates and I will probably end up with someone’s Ipod slipping my open cavity during the surgery and be forced to listen to Barry Manilow from the insides of my hollow lower region region forever more.
