US Veterans’ Gravesite Listing

I know it might seem like a somber thing to think about, but tonight I was looking around for information about my grandfather and great uncle who both served in WWII. I found the Nationwide Gravesite Locator on the Department of Veterans Affairs website. I already knew where they are buried, but I didn’t know what my uncle’s “rank” was until I found him on the site.

They only provide information about people buried after 1997 and who have an official goverment grave marker, so if you are searching for genealogy information dating back before, that you won’t be able to find it there.
